Who it helps
Individual therapy
For one adult who wants a steady place to think, whatever tradition, or none, runs through their life.
You might be carrying a decision, a loss, a change of season or a long habit of looking after everyone else. You do not need to know what to call it before the first session.

What to expect
Sessions, in plain words
What sessions look like
Fifty minutes, face to face in Sedona or by video. You talk, Kizzy listens and asks, and sometimes offers a way to look at what you have said. Some sessions have a plan and some do not.
The approach
Person-centered, mindfulness-informed and cognitive behavioral approaches, drawn on as they suit you. If your tradition has a practice you value, you can bring it in.
What this is not
It is not spiritual direction, worship or teaching, and Kizzy does not pray with you. It is not an evaluation, and she does not write reports for others.
How long and how often
Most people meet weekly or every other week at first. Kizzy sets the pace with you, and there is no set number of sessions.
How it is paid
You pay at the end of each session by card, and your fee is given in writing before you start. A limited number of reduced-fee spots are open; ask how to request one.
How fees workWhere
In the office on Brewer Road, or by video from anywhere in Arizona, where Kizzy is licensed.

Questions about individual therapy
What happens in the first session?
You and Kizzy talk for 50 minutes about what brought you to look for counseling, what you hope for and what you want her to know about your background, including any tradition. She explains how confidentiality works, and the two of you decide together whether to continue.
How often and how long are sessions?
An individual session is 50 minutes and a couple's session is 80. Most people meet weekly or every other week at first. Kizzy sets the pace with you, and there is no set number of sessions.
What is confidential, and what are the limits?
What you say in session is private. The limits are set by law: a serious risk of harm to yourself or someone else, abuse of a child or a vulnerable adult, and a court order. Kizzy explains them in writing before you start.
