Who it helps

Faith transitions

For adults whose faith or sense of belonging is changing: leaving a community, returning to one, or standing between two.

A change in belief rarely stays inside belief. It touches family, friends, holidays, routines and who you are on Sunday morning. You can take it apart here at your own speed.

What to expect

How the work goes

  • What sessions look like

Fifty minutes, in person or by video. You decide what to talk about: what you believed, what you believe now, who is affected and what you want your days to look like.

  • The approach

Person-centered listening with some cognitive behavioral and mindfulness-informed tools. Kizzy does not steer you toward staying, leaving or choosing another path.

  • What this is not

It is not an attempt to talk you into or out of a tradition, and it is not spiritual direction. Her own beliefs stay out of the room.

  • How long and how often

Weekly or every other week at first. There is no set number of sessions, and you can pause whenever you like.

  • How it is paid

You pay at the end of each session by card, and your fee is given in writing before you start. A limited number of reduced-fee spots are open; ask how to request one.

    How fees work
  • Your community

If you want to bring a family member or a leader from your tradition into the conversation, that needs your written permission, and it is your choice.

Questions about faith transitions

Do I need to be religious?

No. People come with a faith, with several, with questions, or with none. You do not need to believe anything, and you will not be asked to.

Will you pray with me, or teach me a practice?

No. Kizzy is a licensed counselor, and the work is counseling, not worship or spiritual direction. If a practice from your own tradition helps you, you can talk about it, and she will help you think about how it fits your life.

What is confidential, and what are the limits?

What you say in session is private. The limits are set by law: a serious risk of harm to yourself or someone else, abuse of a child or a vulnerable adult, and a court order. Kizzy explains them in writing before you start.
