Your first session
What happens before, during and after
- 01
Step 1: Before: a message and a short call
You write to us or call. If you are unsure, you can book a 15-minute call about fit: it is a conversation, not therapy, an evaluation or an assessment. Before the first session you receive your fee and a Good Faith Estimate in writing, and a short form from our own portal.
- 02
Step 2: During: 50 minutes together
You and Kizzy talk about what you hope for and what you want her to know about your background, including any tradition. She explains how confidentiality works and what its limits are. You can ask her anything.
- 03
Step 3: After: you decide
At the end you decide together whether to continue and how often to meet. There is no contract. If it is not the right fit, she will gladly share the names of colleagues.
What to bring
Nothing in particular
Bring yourself, and anything about your tradition you would like to say. You do not need to prepare.
Your questions about how this works
Your tradition, in your own words, if you wish
A card for the session fee, which we give you in writing first

Questions about the first session
What happens in the first session?
You and Kizzy talk for 50 minutes about what brought you to look for counseling, what you hope for and what you want her to know about your background, including any tradition. She explains how confidentiality works, and the two of you decide together whether to continue.
What is confidential, and what are the limits?
What you say in session is private. The limits are set by law: a serious risk of harm to yourself or someone else, abuse of a child or a vulnerable adult, and a court order. Kizzy explains them in writing before you start.
Is Kizzy licensed where I live?
Kizzy is licensed in Arizona, as a Licensed Professional Counselor. You can check her license with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. Video sessions are for people physically in Arizona, where she is licensed.
